Chinese Cupping Blue Mountains retreat
Fire cupping or suction cupping is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine found in many cultures worldwide for thousands of years. Air is sucked out of the cups to create a vacuum on the skin or oxygen is burnt up by the flame in fire cupping. The cup sticks to the skin with suction, the suction pulls up the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Qi and blood is activated and drawn up into the cup. This creates an artificial inflammation and brings blood to the area. At our Chinese cupping Blue Mountains retreat we use Chinese cupping to reduce muscle pain (dispel stagnation). Stagnant blood and lymph are reduced to increase and improve energy (qi) flow. With fresh blood and improved lymph flow the areas treated will have better circulation enabling the body to start healing and reduce pain.
